California bar exam results for February 2024 have been released.

Repeat takers accounted for 70% of all candidates who sat for the bar exam.



The overall pass rate was 33.9%,

The first time taker pass rate was 45%.

The repeat-takers pass rate was 29%.

California ABA Schools – First-Time Takers 55%; Repeat Takers 42%

Out-of-State ABA Schools – First-Time Takers 49%; Repeat Takers 34%

California Accredited (not ABA – First-Time Takers 35%; Repeat Takers 18%

Unaccredited Fixed Facility – First-Time Takers 100%, Repeat Takers 17%

Unaccredited Correspondence – First-Time Takers 29%, Repeat Takers 13%

Unaccredited Distance Leaning – First-Time Takers 26%, Repeat Takers 12%

All Applicants – First-Time Takers 45%, Repeat Takers 29%
