The July 2022 California Bar Exam Results Have Been Released With a 52% Overall Pass Rate; 17% of Repeat Takers Passed the Bar Exam. Bar Professors Can Help Repeat Takers

The California bar exam results for July 2022 were released on Thursday.


Repeat takers accounted for 22% of all candidates who sat for the bar exam. The repeat-takers pass rate was 17%. 


The overall pass rate was 52.4%, a slight decrease from 53% last year. The first time taker pass rate was 62%.


Here is the statistics:


California ABA Schools – First-Time Takers 73%; Repeat Takers 26%

Out-of-State ABA Schools – First-Time Takers 69%; Repeat Takers 23%

California Accredited (not ABA) – First-Time Takers 30%; Repeat Takers 12%

Unaccredited Fixed Facility – First-Time Takers 11%, Repeat Takers 5%

Unaccredited Correspondence – First-Time Takers 25%, Repeat Takers 8%

Unaccredited Distance Leaning – First-Time Takers 12%, Repeat Takers 9%



All Applicants – First-Time Takers 62%, Repeat Takers 17%
