The February 2022 MBE mean scaled score fell to an all-time low of 132.6. This is the lowest February MBE score on record.

Last February’s mean scaled MBE score of 134 was an increase of 1.4 points from February 2020. But, unfortunately, this February’s MBE score regressed enough to tie the lowest MBE score in February 2020.

The MBE mean score has dropped since 2014.

In Florida, where the pass rate for the MBE is 136, this MBE decline was indicative of the Florida statistics. Only 35% of the Florida takers who only took the MBE passed. Almost 65% of the takers of Part B failed.

Moreover, the pass rate in the states that have announced their bar results have had a low overall pass rate, most likely because of the low MBE mean score.

Test takers who have previously taken but not passed a bar exam tend to show lower performance on the MBE than first-time test takers, and the majority of this February’s test takers nationwide were repeat takers. According to the NCBE, of the 16,504 people who took the February 2022 exam, approximately 68% nationwide were repeat test-takers.
